How many jobs are you averaging per day? I took a poll recently and the majority of participating cleaners are at 1-2 jobs per day.
being mostly commercial, the number varies by day/week/time of year.

some times lucky to get 1 per day. other times we'll have 3, but that isn't too often.
This can be a hard one to answer depending on what type of cleaning you are doing as Derek said.

Residential carpets can, in my town with smaller housing, be 3-4 carpeted homes per day.

Drop that back if I have to do upholstery.

HOWEVER, with the slump in work here, + an influx of carpet cleaners advertising $60 x 3 rooms, my work has dropped off in residential substantially.

We currently have over 50 cc'ers for a town of about 125,000.

Most of my work is within  15 minutes driving of my home.

We don't have a lot of large, palatial homes like you do in the U.S.

Most of our bedrooms are less than 172 square feet.

I have regular commercial customers that take about an hour per clean.
For these, mainly in shopping malls, I have my own keys & work between 6:00 & 9:30pm

I have one next week that is going to be an 8 hour job, starting at 5:30pm awwwman   sleep

Coming in the Christmas /New Year holiday period, I have jobs that take from a day to a week to do.

I do get a lot of specialist upholstery & leather cleaning as well which helps immensely.

Good point Shorty....let me clarify:

How many residential? How many commercial?
I average one residential job a week. Last week I had 3 which was a record for me. Just starting out and working on getting more.

Keep at it & never, ever, give up.

If you ever need any advice, just ask.

There is never a stupid question.

I'm proof of that. Big Grin
