I believe John G's Dad used these in the beginning---I think I read that once. They would vibrate themselves apart fairly quickly and parts were never available.

I've had one for a decade or so & never any problems with it. Very handy for small confined areas only. Mine is called a Carpet Gem & is in 220/240 volt. I need new towels for it, a hundred or so. Never knew it was called an Argo.  Short 1
